Prescription Drugs

Unused or expired prescription medication are a public safety issue, leading to potential accidental poisoning, misuse or overdose.  Proper disposal of unused drugs saves lives and protects the environment.

Step 1: Collect unused or expired medication from your home.

Allowed​

  • Prescription Medication

  • Prescription Patches

  • OTC Medications

  • Vitamins

  • Samples

  • Pet Medications

NOT Allowed​

  • Sharps (Needles)

  • Inhalers

  • Lotions, Liquids & Ointments

  • Hydrogen Peroxide

  • Aerosol Cans

  • Thermometers

Step 2: Remove any personal identifying information

Take off, erase or mark out patient names and doctor names. ​

Step 3: Bring to drive-thru collection site on April 24

Rx disposal unit is also available 24/7 in the lobby of the Scarsdale Police Department.
